After the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968, and the subsequent formation and activism of the Black Students' Union, MIT worked to increase its diversity recruitment efforts. Ads appeared in various issues of the popular Black-interest magazine Ebony. The above ad appears in the August 1970 Special Issue "Which Way, Black America?"
