Doctoral student John Urschel 'G enrolled at the Institute while also playing as an offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens. At an MIT Better World event in Washington, D.C. in April of 2017, Urschel recounted the story of his lifelong balance of math and football. His published memoir, co-written with Louisa Thomas, is titled Mind and Matter: A Life in Math and Football (Penguin Press, 2014).
