Dale Joachim: Human Environment Mobile Based Interactions Workshop (2009)


Dale Joachim is an electrical engineer whose research on acoustic sensor systems aims to significantly improve both wildlife monitoring and musical understanding. Joachim has been involved in One Laptop per Child, MIT Lincoln Laboratories, and numerous other commercial and academic endeavors. He was a 2006-08 MLK Visiting Professor in the MIT Department of Media Arts and Sciences and a 2008-10 Visiting Scientist at the Media Lab, where he is currently Technical Staff. In 2010, Joachim founded Acoustic Footprints, an initiative that investigates applications of acoustic and internet technologies to the exploration of natural environments.
