The Black Alumni/ae of MIT (BAMIT) sponsors its traditional Black Graduate Celebration (BGC) held in April of each year. The event features keynote speakers and honors graduates with a hand-woven, embroidered kente stoles.

With the theme of "The Road to 50: Dedication, Perseverance, Excellence," the 2018 BGC launched a weekend of events celebrating the 50th Reunion of the MIT Black Students' Union (BSU).
