Among the attendees was Sekazi K. Mtingwa '71 (formerly Michael V. Sawyer), who earned SB degrees in Mathematics and in Physics in 1971 from MIT; from 2001 to 2003, he was appointed as a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visiting Professor, hosted by the MIT Department of Physics.
